Which vehicles will be subject to restrictions

From 8 January 2027, restrictions on operation within the LEZ will apply to vehicles that have not undergone a technical examination and confirmed compliance with emissions limits.

What vehicle owners need to do

A positive examination result is required for entry from 8 January 2027. The manufacturing year, environmental class or payment for a test does not, by itself, confirm compliance with the limits.

• Complete a technical emissions examination at an accredited station.
• Confirm through the measurements that the vehicle meets emissions limits.
• If the result is negative, rectify the identified faults and complete a repeat examination.

Examination fees

An emissions examination is a measurement service provided by a testing station. Paying for the service does not replace a positive result and is not payment for permission to enter the LEZ.
