KazStandard — ST RK 1433-2023

Current standard and commencement

ST RK 1433-2023 is the national standard for road-vehicle exhaust pollutant emissions into ambient air: limits and measurement methods. KazStandard’s record states that it has applied since 1 January 2024 and replaces ST RK 1433-2017.

Scope

The standard covers emissions measurement limits and methods for in-service passenger vehicles M1–M3, goods vehicles N1–N3, category L motorcycles, and specialised and special-purpose vehicles. Petrol and gas testing concerns toxicity; diesel testing concerns smoke opacity.

Using the LEZ.kz tables

The numerical CO, CH and smoke-opacity limits on LEZ.kz come directly from Appendices 2–3 to the Vehicle Emissions Monitoring Rules. The regulatory group by country, engine and year reproduces Appendix 4. The full preparation and measurement procedure follows ST RK 1433-2023.
